چکیده
Purpose Differentiating between germinoma and non-germinomatous germ cell tumor (NGGCT) is important because sensitivity to chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy quite different these two subgroups. In this study, we evaluated whether the arterial spin labeling (ASL) based perfusion-weighted imaging (PWI) could provide additional information for differential diagnosis NGGCT. Method Between 2011 2018, 20 patients with central nervous system (CNS) (GCT) who underwent preoperative MR including ASL-PWI were enrolled in study. Relative blood flow (rTBF) was on by manually placing regions of interest at gadolinium enhanced part tumors normal subcortical white matter. Presence intratumoral T1 hyperintense foci apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) also evaluated. The final made combination markers histological diagnosis. Results Among CNS-GCT, 11 diagnosed as 9 subgroup, rTBF ranged from 0.90 1.71 (mean 1.21, median 1.09), while it 1.14 5.75 3.91, 3.31) NGGCT subgroup. receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve showed that calculating useful differentiating (area under (AUC) 0.929, P = 0.0012) compared (AUC 0.788, 0.0304) ADC 0.919, 0.0016). Conclusions High obtained implied presence component. This might help deciding chemotherapy/radiotherapy intensity.

متن کاملnon-seminomatous germ cell tumor metastasis to the jaw: an imaging case report
testicular cancer typically spreads to the lymph nodes, but hematogenous dissemination to distant organs can also occur. bone metastasis is uncommon and is thought to be a poor prognostic indicator. jaw metastasis is exceedingly rare but is of great clinical significance, since it may be the first sign of an occult testicular cancer or the first evidence of relapse of a known tumor. herein, we ...
متن کاملPediatric central nervous system germ cell tumors: a review.
Central nervous system (CNS) germ cell tumors (GCTs) represent approximately 3% of primary pediatric brain tumors and encompass a wide pathologic spectrum. CNS GCTs are most commonly located in the pineal and suprasellar regions of the brain and can be divided into major groups including germinomas and nongerminomatous GCTs (NGGCTs), with teratomas often considered a separate category. The clin...
متن کاملPediatric perfusion MR imaging using arterial spin labeling.
Cerebral blood flow (CBF, cerebral perfusion) mirrors cerebral metabolic demand and neuronal function, and therefore, is a vital parameter in the evaluation of pediatric brain injury and recovery. Until recently, measurement of CBF involved intravenous bolus injection of contrast agents or nuclear medicine methods that were technically difficult or ethically problematic in pediatrics. The devel...
متن کاملComparison of arterial spin labeling and bolus perfusion-weighted imaging for detecting mismatch in acute stroke.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The perfusion-weighted imaging (PWI)-diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) mismatch paradigm is widely used in stroke imaging studies. Arterial spin labeling (ASL) is an alternative perfusion method that does not require contrast. This study compares the agreement of ASL-DWI and PWI-DWI mismatch classification in patients with stroke. METHODS This was a retrospective study d...
